Mohammed Ali and John Allan Namu’s Jicho Pevu and Inside Story features on KTN recently fed the public with some sad truths about what really happened during the recent terror attack on Westage Shopping Mall. The features showed clips of KDF soldiers walking out from the Nakumatt supermarket which was situated in Westgate carrying paper-bags but no one could tell what was in them. Shop owners on the other hand had been complaining about their goods having been looted under what seemed as unclear circumstances.
After the recent revelations on KDF, probing for truth started and speculation made with Mohammed Ali at some point claiming to be wanted by the law following the revelations he made. It now happens that some soldiers actually looted during the Westgate saga, but as you would have it, the long arm of law caught up with them and two have been arrested and are in prison and one is still under investigation after which if found guilty will join the other two in prison. He is positioned in Nairobi’s Harlingham area and is said to have taken two phones and a camera to his wife in Nakuru who found it all suspicious and raised the alarm.
After the incriminating video clips were aired on national television, claims surfaced that the soldiers were carrying water for their colleagues who were camping outside the small and other well wishers but apparently KDF bottles their own water which they carry when going for peace keeping mission.
Good thing about this is that the few who want to ruin a good reputation that has taken years to build will now be brought to book.
