Sauti Sol have broken their silence regarding allegations on social media and blogs that the "Money Lover' singers are gay. News broke out over the weekend about their sexual orientation and has gone viral since.
Speaking to Vibeweekly on Monday afternoon, Anyiko Owoko, the group's publicist said the band's management had vowed to take legal action against the blogger who published an article which claimed that one member had said “We don’t do it for the money, we do it for the butt!”.
A statement from the group's management reads
"It is obviously a ridiculous rumour, even outrageous. Enough with the gossip and blogs. The band members are as gay as happy means, and would all like to keep their personal private lives including that of their family and friends private and respected.
The band's first reaction was shock at how someone or some blog could write that they had interviewed them yet they hadn't, that's wrong, malicious and defamatory and we will be taking legal action against all these idle rumor mongers"
The band consisting of Bien Aime Baraza, Polycarp Otieno,Willis Austin Chimano and Delvin Mudigi are among the Kenyan groups nominated at the CHOMVA Awards, for the Most Gifted East African Video. Follow the links below to vote for them.
