UHURU and RUTO accuse UK, US of funding AL SHABAAB through local NGOs like HAKI

The Jubilee Government is now accusing the United States and several European countries of funding organizations linked to Al Shabaab terrorists.

On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a protest note verbale to the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Germany and Finland.

The Government requested the above named countries to stop funding local NGOs like Haki Africa and Muslims for Human Rights (Muhuri). So far UK and US have denied funding terror linked organizations such as Muhuri and Haki Africa.

The Government has since de-registered the two organizations saying they were working with terror groups, accusations denied by the two groups.

The National Intelligence Service (NIS) has said Haki Africa and Muhuri have been raising money that the terror organization uses to bail out terror suspects.

Haki Africa is particularly accused of paying a bail of Sh 5 million to redeem  a land title  deed that had been given by the wife of late  Sheikh Abubakar  Sharif Ahmed also known as Sheik Makaburi.
